Reed Professional Services is collaborating with a UK based media client to support them with finding and experienced Android Engineer. As part of an initiative to revamp their new phone App, we are seeking an Android Engineer to join the existing team. The role involves developing new features, improving user experience, integrating news articles, and implementing mandatory sign-in functionality.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Engage in native Android development using Kotlin and Java.
• Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) analysis and design principles.
• Work with web services and APIs for application functionality.
• Conduct multiple variant testing to ensure optimal user experiences.
• Collaborate with product and delivery teams to refine, scope, and deliver features and bug fixes.
• Operate within Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Native Android development experience with Kotlin and Java.
• Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) analysis and design.
• Working knowledge of web services and APIs.
• Experience with multiple variant testing.
• Comfortable collaborating with product and delivery teams.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, etc.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines is ideal.

Additional Information:

• This contract falls inside IR35.
• Hybrid working arrangement with required on-site presence once a week.
