ITVX Rapid Team Deployment

In the face of a highly competitive engineering job market, ITVX faced the challenge of assembling a skilled team for their new streaming service. The key objectives were rapid talent acquisition, cost-effectiveness, and navigating the complexities of the global job market.

We adopted a pioneering approach by forming a hybrid team, drawing from both our domestic and nearshore resources. This strategy was not just about sourcing the best talent irrespective of location, but also about drastically reducing costs and onboarding times for ITVX.

Our team was a diverse mix of global talent, comprising two onshore Delivery Managers and seven Software Engineers, split between the UK and abroad. This team brought extensive experience across multiple device/browser types, with expertise in JavaScript, Typescript, React, Java, Node, and AWS. The onboarding process, which is often a lengthy affair, was kickstarted in less than two weeks after contract approval and scaled up rapidly as capacity demands increased. The alignment between the teams was meticulously managed by the RPS PMO team and delivery managers through weekly meetings, ensuring consistent tracking of performance, issues, and blockers.
